Life
Support Training Institute (LSTI), a division of Community
EMS, is one of the largest EMS training schools in the state
of Michigan. LSTI is accredited through the Michigan
Department of Education, and the American Heart Association recognizes
LSTI as a Community Training Center. LSTI
trains over 7,000 people annually.
Our Education Philosophy
Education and training for the individual affects each and every one of
us who will ever need emergency medical service. Whether you are an emergency
professional, a health care provider or a safety-minded citizen, having
the proper training and skills could help people or even save lives someday.
Community EMS is committed to providing our community
with the best emergency education and training services possible.
Our History
In 1986, the Life Support
Training Institute was established to meet the growing need
for well-trained emergency medical service professionals. In 1992, LSTI
was named a Community Training Center for the American Heart Association.
Today, LSTI offers classes for professionals, community
classes for adults and special programs just for kids. How we teach our
students determines to a great extent how they will treat their patients.
We incorporate as many hands-on exercises as possible in every program,
from CPR/First Aid through Paramedic-Instructor, to make sure that our
students stay motivated to learn.
