On August 9th and 10th, reviewers from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Service (CAAS) conducted an on-site review of Community EMS as a part of our accreditation renewal. The CAAS review team evaluates each characteristic of the accreditation process and a score for each characteristic is assigned.
The CAAS accreditation is regarded as the “gold standard” in the ambulance industry, often exceeding the standards established by state or local regulations. The standards set forth in the review process are designed to increase operational efficiency and decrease risk and liability across the entire spectrum of the organization.
The review process includes a comprehensive self-assessment and an independent external review of the EMS organization. This independent process provides verification to the company’s Board of Directors, city council, medical community and others that quality care is provided to the community.
We are pleased to announce that the CAAS Panel of Commissioners has not only granted Community Emergency Medical Service a full three-year accreditation renewal, but also the panel’s special commendation for an outstanding achievement of zero deficiencies.
We would like to congratulate our Executive Leadership, Management Team, EMTs, Paramedics, Dispatchers, Mechanics, Support Services personnel and everyone else who has helped Community EMS continue to be one of the top rated emergency medical service providers in the country.
